An Insignificant No One

Walking down the road
to a fantasy world
where the whole world
treats you like its own -
a genuine "hi" here
a chirpy "hello" there
a cheerful chatter
in the day's platter;
an honest compliment,
a humble request,
a beautiful surprise,
a sanguine mood,
plunging you into
the bounty of euphoria;
still settling down
with happiness abound -
Suddenly, the bubble
bursts into a rubble
pushing you into the abyss
from the whimsical bliss
to find yourself resting
in a weightless cradle
and then, looking around,
burning the eyes
is a scintillating sheen,
devoid of any soul,
leaving you confounded-
the image of a crowd
fast fading away,
just to discover
that the "you" is just
an insignificant no one..

The dream that was...

Dependence of the leaf
on the sun's magical gold;
the aura of a fish
kept in a whirlpool of colour;
rumpled is the sea face
that meets up the horizon;

The pandemonium that prevails
when all three converge
brings us back
to the reality of existence;

The very breath we take,
the very blinks we make,
the very skin that tickles,
the very sounds we hear..

That is the human form
we have been bestowed,
acceptance without denial
is the blessing we could seek..
